CALB L300F170A 170Ah LiFePO4 Cell

The CALB L300F170A 170Ah is a 3.2V prismatic LiFePO4 battery cell designed for high-capacity battery systems. With 544Wh nominal energy per cell, it is well suited for DIY 12V, 24V and 48V battery packs, solar energy storage, RV power systems and other applications where a compact, high-capacity LFP cell is required.

The CALB specification lists a standard tested capacity of 177Ah at 25°C under 1/3C discharge conditions, providing useful performance headroom over the 170Ah model designation.

For multi-cell projects, AmpBird can also help confirm cell quantity, BMS configuration, matching requirements and shipping options before you order.

Build Your Battery Pack

Combine CALB 170Ah cells in series to build common 12V, 24V and 48V LiFePO4 battery systems.

Configuration Nominal Voltage Capacity Nominal Energy
4S / 4 Cells 12.8V 170Ah 2.18kWh
8S / 8 Cells 25.6V 170Ah 4.35kWh
16S / 16 Cells 51.2V 170Ah 8.70kWh

Not sure which configuration you need? Tell us your system voltage, inverter power and required runtime. AmpBird can help check the cell quantity and BMS configuration before ordering.

Why Choose the CALB L300F170A?

Built for Real Battery Pack Design

170Ah-class capacity in a slim prismatic format

The L300F170A measures only 37.8mm in thickness while providing 544Wh nominal energy per cell, making it useful for battery packs where enclosure space and cell arrangement matter.

Strong current capability

According to CALB's operating limits, continuous discharge can reach 170A between 10°C and 45°C, while peak discharge can reach 256A for 30 seconds across much of the normal operating temperature range. Current capability decreases outside this range, so system design should follow the manufacturer's temperature-dependent limits.

Manufacturer-defined cycle performance

CALB specifies more than 2,500 cycles at 25°C under its stated test conditions rather than an undefined marketing cycle claim.

Detailed manufacturer engineering data available

The original L300F170A specification includes voltage limits, current limits, DC internal resistance, physical dimensions, terminal loading, compression and safety information for pack designers.

Cell Quality & Matching

Building a reliable multi-cell battery starts with cell consistency.

For multi-cell orders, AmpBird can check open-circuit voltage, internal resistance, QR code condition, terminal condition, physical appearance and batch consistency before shipment.

If your project requires capacity testing or a specific matching tolerance, tell us your requirements before ordering so the appropriate inspection scope can be confirmed.

What's Included

For a 4-Cell Set

4 × CALB L300F170A 170Ah LiFePO4 Cells
with welded threaded studs

4 × Busbars
for cell-to-cell connections

Epoxy Insulation Sheets
available as a complimentary accessory upon request

For other quantity options, the supplied cell and busbar quantities correspond to the selected configuration.

Choosing a BMS

Your BMS must match both the number of cells in series and the maximum current required by your system.

Battery Configuration BMS Type
4S / 12.8V 4S LiFePO4 BMS
8S / 25.6V 8S LiFePO4 BMS
16S / 51.2V 16S LiFePO4 BMS

Do not select a BMS based on the 170Ah capacity alone. Inverter power, charger current, expected continuous load, peak load and operating temperature should also be considered.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the CALB L300F170A 170Ah cell right for my battery project?
Tell us your system voltage, inverter power, expected load and required runtime. AmpBird can help check whether the 170Ah L300F170A is suitable for your application and recommend the cell quantity and BMS configuration before you order.
Is this really a 170Ah cell if the CALB datasheet lists 177Ah?
Yes. L300F170A is the model designation commonly sold as the CALB 170Ah cell. The manufacturer specification lists a standard capacity of 177Ah when tested at 25°C with a 1/3C discharge rate. Actual measured capacity depends on the defined test conditions.
How many CALB 170Ah cells do I need for a 12V, 24V or 48V battery?
A typical LiFePO4 system uses 4 cells for a 12.8V 170Ah battery of about 2.18kWh, 8 cells for a 25.6V 170Ah battery of about 4.35kWh, and 16 cells for a 51.2V 170Ah battery of about 8.70kWh.
Which BMS should I use with CALB 170Ah cells?
Choose the BMS according to both the series configuration and the maximum current required by your system. A 16-cell 51.2V battery requires a 16S LiFePO4 BMS, but its current rating should be selected according to inverter power, charger current and expected load rather than the 170Ah capacity alone.
Are the cells checked and matched before shipping?
For multi-cell orders, AmpBird can check open-circuit voltage, internal resistance, QR code condition, terminal condition, physical appearance and batch consistency before shipment. Capacity testing or specific matching requirements should be confirmed before ordering.
What exactly is included with my order?
For a 4-cell set, you will receive 4 CALB L300F170A 170Ah LiFePO4 cells with welded threaded studs and 4 busbars. Epoxy insulation sheets can be provided as a complimentary accessory upon request. Other quantity options include corresponding cell and busbar quantities.
Can I order a small quantity before placing a larger order?
Yes. Small orders are suitable for evaluation, prototype builds and initial testing. For production, installation, resale or repeat purchasing requirements, contact us with your expected quantity and technical requirements.
Can I request inspection data before shipment?
Yes. Depending on your order requirements, relevant inspection information such as voltage, internal resistance, physical condition and batch consistency can be confirmed before shipment. Please discuss capacity testing or specific matching tolerances with us in advance.
Will I need to pay import duties when the cells arrive?
DDP door-to-door shipping is available for eligible destinations. When DDP service is confirmed, customs clearance, import duties and applicable taxes are included in the shipping arrangement.
What should I do when the cells arrive?
Inspect the packaging, cell casing, terminals and cell voltage before assembly. Do not install or cycle a cell that appears damaged or abnormal. Contact AmpBird with clear photos and measurement information if you notice any issue.
