Which BMS should I choose?

Choose a BMS rated for your cell type, nominal voltage and continuous current. For most LiFePO4 DIY builds, a JK or Daly smart BMS with active balancing works well. Check the number of cells in series, the maximum charge and discharge current, and whether you need Bluetooth monitoring before ordering.

Do I need an active balancer?

An active balancer helps keep cell voltages closer during charging, which can improve usable capacity over time. It is most useful for larger packs or when cells are not perfectly matched. For many home builds a quality BMS with passive balancing is sufficient, but an external active balancer adds an extra layer of consistency.

Can I buy components separately?

Yes. All AmpBird components — BMS, breakers, busbars, wiring, LCD, balancers and hardware — are sold individually so you can replace a part, finish a build or upgrade an existing system. Browse the categories above or contact us if you need a specific item.

Are these compatible with DIY Kits?

Our components are selected to work with AmpBird DIY Kits and common LiFePO4 cell configurations. Always confirm the voltage, current and connection type, such as busbar spacing and terminal size, match your kit before ordering. If you are unsure, send us your configuration and we will confirm compatibility.

Which communication protocols are supported?

Most AmpBird BMS and communication modules support common protocols such as CAN bus and RS485, and many work with Victron, Growatt, Deye, SMA, GoodWe, Solis and LuxPower inverters. Actual support depends on the specific model and your inverter's requirements, so please verify the protocol before purchase.
