51.2V Stackable DIY Battery Box Kit

Build your own solar storage battery with this 48V-class, 51.2V 16S LiFePO4 battery enclosure kit, designed for compatible 280–314Ah prismatic cells.

The stackable steel enclosure brings the main components together for experienced DIY builders who want to source fewer parts separately and assemble their own battery.

Fully unassembled. Battery cells are not included.

Busbars are supplied with battery cells purchased from AmpBird. Confirm that the connectors suit your selected cells and this kit’s layout.

Full Assembly, with a Clear Understanding of the Work

This kit is delivered as separate components. It requires more than installing cells into a prepared enclosure.

The build includes:

  • Assembling the enclosure and mounting its internal components.
  • Positioning the cells and fitting the required insulation.
  • Installing the BMS, display, PCB boards and circuit breaker.
  • Connecting the cell busbars, internal power cables and BMS wiring.
  • Configuring the BMS for the selected cells.
  • Checking the completed assembly before connecting it to the wider system.

You should already be comfortable with LiFePO4 battery assembly, polarity checks, BMS wiring requirements and correct terminal tightening. Suitable tools and test equipment are required.

Does the kit arrive pre-assembled?
No. All components are supplied unassembled. You must assemble the enclosure, install the components, complete the wiring and configure the BMS. Battery assembly experience and suitable tools are required.
Which battery cells can I use?
The kit supports compatible 280–314Ah prismatic LiFePO4 cells in a 16S1P configuration. Cell dimensions and terminal layout must match the enclosure and internal components. Send us your cell model and terminal photo if you need fit confirmation.
Are battery cells included?
No. Battery cells are purchased separately. The kit itself does not have a battery capacity or stored energy.
Are cell busbars and epoxy insulation sheets included?
No. Cell busbars and epoxy insulation sheets are not included with the kit. Busbars are supplied with battery cells purchased from AmpBird; please confirm that they match your selected cells and the kit’s layout.
Are cables for connecting multiple batteries included?
No. Parallel power cables and inter-unit communication cables are not included. The supplied 35mm² cables are for internal connections within the kit.
Do you provide assembly instructions?
An assembly video is available. Please request the video for your kit configuration before starting the build. The video supports the assembly process but does not replace relevant battery assembly knowledge.
How many units can I stack or connect in parallel?
Contact AmpBird to confirm the permitted stacking arrangement and supported parallel configuration before planning a multi-unit installation. Mechanical stacking limits and electrical parallel limits are separate.
Will the BMS communicate with my inverter?
Please send us the exact inverter brand and model before ordering. Interface type alone does not confirm compatibility; the supported protocol and connection cable must also match.
