A More Affordable Starting Point for Your DIY Battery

Build your own 51.2V LiFePO4 battery with an enclosure kit designed for compatible 280–314Ah prismatic cells. This kit brings together the enclosure components, JK BMS, display, PCB boards, circuit breaker and internal power cables, reducing the number of parts you need to source separately.

It is an economical choice for experienced builders who are comfortable completing the assembly themselves and want to understand how their battery goes together.

Supplied fully unassembled. Battery cells, cell busbars and epoxy insulation sheets are not included. Battery assembly experience is required.

Fewer Components to Source Separately

This kit groups these components into one package:

  • JK PB2A16S20P 200A BMS with 2A active balancing: the battery-management component for your 16S build.
  • 4.3-inch display: provides a local interface for viewing battery information.
  • PCB boards and mounting components: supplied for the kit’s internal assembly.
  • 200A DC circuit breaker and external terminals: included as part of the main electrical connection system.
  • 35mm² internal power cables: supplied with fitted cable lugs for the internal connections.
  • Enclosure panels, supports and hardware: form the housing and mounting structure for your project.

You complete the mechanical assembly, wiring and configuration. This delivery format suits customers who prefer a lower purchase price and are willing to invest their own time and skills in the build.

Full Assembly, with a Clear Understanding of the Work

This kit is delivered as separate components. It requires more than installing cells into a prepared enclosure.

The build includes:

  • Assembling the enclosure and mounting its internal components.
  • Positioning the cells and fitting the required insulation.
  • Installing the BMS, display, PCB boards and circuit breaker.
  • Connecting the cell busbars, internal power cables and BMS wiring.
  • Configuring the BMS for the selected cells.
  • Checking the completed assembly before connecting it to the wider system.

You should already be comfortable with LiFePO4 battery assembly, polarity checks, BMS wiring requirements and correct terminal tightening. Suitable tools and test equipment are required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this kit include battery cells?
No. Battery cells are purchased separately. The kit supports compatible 280–314Ah prismatic LiFePO4 cells in a 16S configuration.
Does the kit arrive pre-assembled?
No. You must assemble the enclosure, install the components, complete the wiring and configure the BMS. Relevant battery assembly experience and suitable tools are required.
Are cell busbars and epoxy insulation sheets included?
No. Neither is included with the standalone kit. Cell busbars are supplied when you purchase battery cells from AmpBird. Please confirm that the connectors match your selected cells and the kit’s layout.
Can I build a battery using 314Ah cells?
Yes. Using 16 compatible 3.2V 314Ah cells gives a nominal 51.2V 314Ah configuration with approximately 16.08kWh of nominal energy. Cells are not included, and usable energy depends on the completed system.
Will my existing cells fit?
Compatibility depends on cell dimensions and terminal layout, not capacity alone. Send us your cell model and terminal photo before ordering if you need fit confirmation.
What cables are included?
The kit includes four short 35mm² red and black internal power cables with fitted lugs. External battery-to-inverter cables are not included.
Does the 200A BMS mean the completed battery can continuously deliver 200A?
No. The BMS rating is a component specification. The completed battery’s operating limit also depends on the cells, cables, connections, protection devices and thermal conditions.
Will the BMS communicate with my inverter?
Please provide the exact inverter brand and model before ordering. Electrical suitability and BMS communication compatibility need to be checked separately.
Can I buy the kit and cells together?
Yes. Send us your preferred cell model, inverter model and delivery country so we can help confirm the combination and identify any additional materials required.
